PA66 BASF A3L Series Resin
PA66 BASF A3L Series Resin
Material Introduction: PA66 BASF A3L Series (Germany BASF) is a high‑flow, unreinforced, impact‑modified PA66 resin. It combines excellent processing flowability, favorable mechanical strength and outstanding toughness, together with oil resistance and thermal stability. Its inherent water‑absorption property will affect dimensional stability and partial performances; strict drying is mandatory before processing.
Main Applications
Automotive industry: Fasteners (clamps, clips) and automotive interior parts such as instrument panels.
Electronic‑electrical industry: Electrical‑insulation parts, connectors and other components requiring balanced comprehensive properties and good processing flowability.
Industrial fittings: Various engineering industrial accessories.
Other fields: Outdoor applications requiring weather resistance (UV‑stabilized grades) or scratch‑resistant components.

Injection Molding Parameters
| Processing Item | Recommended Range / Condition | Notes & Explanations |
|---|---|---|
| Drying Treatment | Hot‑air drying at 60 ℃ for 1.0‑2.0 h. Extend drying time or adopt high‑temperature vacuum drying (e.g.80 ℃) under high‑humidity conditions. | Critical operation. Control moisture content ≤0.2% (0.04%‑0.20%) to avoid hydrolysis‑induced bubbles, silver streaks and mechanical‑property deterioration. Use immediately after drying or seal and keep warm properly. |
| Melt Temperature | General PA66 range:260‑270 ℃; fine‑tune according to equipment and part structure for high‑flow A3L series. | Avoid temperature>300 ℃ or long residence‑time to prevent material degradation. |
| Mold Temperature | 60‑100 ℃; alternative 80‑100 ℃. | Proper mold temperature ensures good crystallinity, surface gloss and mechanical performances. |
| Injection Pressure | 750‑1250 bar. | Adjust per product & mold design. Sufficient pressure guarantees compact parts despite high flowability. |
| Injection Speed | High‑speed injection (reduce speed moderately for reinforced materials). | High‑flow A3L favors fast filling; mold shall be well‑ventilated. |
| Screw Speed | 30‑60 rpm. | Prevent excessive shear heat generation. |
| Runner & Gate | Gate bore ≥0.5*t (t = part wall thickness). Gate location is critical for PA66 due to short solidification time. | Nylon solidifies rapidly; gate location and size are critical for filling. A3L high‑flow property allows relatively smaller gate size. |
| Cooling Time | 20‑90 s. | Depends on part wall thickness. |
